Credit Risk Analyst (Credit Cards)

Our client is looking for a Credit Risk analyst with a retail banking background (preferably in Credit Cards) to report directly into the Head of Acquisition/Portfolio Risk. The successful candidate will improve the risk management and profitability of existing customers through development of customer insight, policies and strategies.

The successful candidate will have:
• A proven track record in a credit risk statistical analysis role
• Be degree qualified
• Strong programming skills in relevant statistical analysis tools (e.g. SAS)
• A proven detailed awareness of retail credit industry products and markets
• A strong understanding of risk strategy (e.g. policy rules, score cut-offs) with an understanding of MI
• This is NOT a quantitative modeling role but must have an understanding of model creation

Key responsibilities
• Define and optimise credit risk strategy for the management of our credit card customers
• Perform segmentation analysis of customer performance based on both credit risk and value
• Work closely with the portfolio team to ensure decisions are value maximised
• Collaborate with analytics teams to assist the modelling process for decision evaluation to ensure strategies are optimised
• Develop and identify additional data sources and credit bureau information
• Work with a number of operational and IT teams across the business to ensure strategies are deployed and that changes meet business requirements
This successful candidate will have good experience as a Credit Risk / Credit Analyst, have worked in retail banking environment and have excellent SAS skills.
