Head of Physical Commodity Settlements; Permanent

• Title: Head of Physical Commodity Settlements
• Salary Range: Negotiable
• Duration: Permanent

Our client has an opportunity available for a Head of Physical Commodity Settlements to provide management and direction to the operational support team.

Main responsibilities will include:
• Managing the day to day running and strategic development of the Physical Commodities Settlements area. Managing, supporting and guiding the managers of the Base and Precious areas (with Energy products currently located in the Base area).
• Manage system and resourcing requirements to cater for the business..
• Close contact with clients and Agents of the bank to ensure that we are meeting the demands of client and that agents are providing the services we require to facilitate the business.
• Coordination with the Front Office and other support areas within the Bank to ensure that all requirements are known and expectations met. Participation in the New Product Process in operation in the Bank to identify all potential aspects of new business and how it will be managed and controlled.
• Ensuring that client exposures are managed and monitored and oversight of the daily margin call process. Liaising with Front Office and Credit departments to ensure that client exposures are maintained within prescribed margin limits.


The successful candidate will have proven experience and knowledge of the commodities markets and know how all aspects operation, especially controls and logistics required around the physical delivery and security, understanding of OTC commodities markets, knowledge of Exchange Traded Products on Commodities as well as a strong understanding of the settlement process and experience managing a team.
