1. Senior Auditor- Bournemouth – Salary £35,000 - £45,000

Our client is looking for a Senior Auditor to undertake independent appraisals on the management of risk and to report on the adequacy and effectiveness of the systems of control; in order to provide assurance to the Board and senior management.

You must have:

• Proven experience in internal, external audit or related regulatory role
• Comprehensive knowledge of the professional practice of internal audit including risk based audit techniques excellent personal organisational and planning skills and excellent communication and influencing skills
• Good team player with the ability to take the lead where appropriate
• General awareness of insurance industry and products and previous experience in Financial Services
• Sound knowledge of risk management and financial management practice
• Professional Qualification or appropriate industry related qualification, such as ACA/ACCA/MIIA /CISA/QICA/ACII/ACIB/AFPC.

You will need to:

• Undertake a programme of audits, and take the lead where appropriate, as part of the annual plan
• manage these audits within budget across all systems and services of the Group in a professional manner, in order to provide assurance on risk management and systems of control and monitor corrective action where required
• Define the scope and Terms of Reference for individual audits for discussion and agreement with Senior line management
• Proactively advise and support the Group in risk management and principles of control to achieve continuous improvement
• Ascertain, document and evaluate systems and then report to senior management on findings and agree remedial action so that effective systems of control are maintained
• Undertake ad hoc investigations into fraud and other irregularities, identify the perpetrators, recover assets and highlight control weaknesses in order to safeguard the Society assets
• Build and maintain appropriate relationships at senior levels within the business including support on ad hoc business projects so that the relevant objectives are achieved in line with the Audit strategy
• Coach and develop new or less experienced team members in a mentoring capacity to assist their achievement of PPP/PDP objectives and maintain appropriate skill levels in the team
• Review business unit procedures for risk management and regulatory compliance on an ad hoc basis, and make recommendations where appropriate that meet Corporate Governance requirements
