Manager - Tax Operations

Our client is looking for a Tax Operations Manager; the successful individual will be responsible for all aspects of tax reporting and will need extensive knowledge of US tax requirements and be familiar with the US 1441 NRA regulations and QI rules

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day to day functions of the team.
• Provide technical training and guidance on the US tax regulations.
• Manage reconciliation of up stream withholding
• Manage reconciliation and depositing of taxes
• Manage reconciliation and control of non QI tax obligations.
• Submission of data to Group Tax for inclusion in 1042 reporting.
• Supervise collection and validation of tax documentation for UK and US tax authorities
• Review/implement effective controls to support the functions above.
• Identify process improvements/efficiencies.
• Monitor nostro breaks and ensure valid narration, completeness and progress.
• Act as first point of contact for Incident reporting - Ensure that the management team are supplied all the relevant concise details.
• Ensure all incident reports are submitted in accordance with the Service Level Document.(Within 5 days)
• Control and Assist with process and agent migrations.

The successful candidate will have:

• At least 2 years experience of US tax regulations.
• At least 1 year’s exposure to UK MOD rules.
• Previous supervisory/management experience.
• A good understanding of the securities markets.
• Ability to form and maintain relationships.
• Ability to understand and assess risk.
• Excellent reconciliation skills.
• Ability to identify process improvements.
• The ability to work effectively with local and remote management teams.
