Financial Accountant- Equity Markets & Global Securities; Permanent

Our client is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team to be responsible for the financial control and reporting of the Equity Markets & Global Securities finance business.
Main responsibilities will include:
• Analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting to head office
• Monthly management information reporting to head office
• Provision of advice to the Front Office on accounting and related matters
• Liaising with Market Risk / Product Control to ensure completeness and accuracy of the ledger.
• Liaising with Operations especially in regard to Corporate Actions to ensure that these are reflected correctly in the ledger.
• Performing/reviewing monthly balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
• Management of the internal treasury allocations within the general ledger.
• Handling of queries from internal/external auditors, including preparation of quarter-end and year-end working papers
• Dealing with ad hoc issues and queries from Finance and Business Management.
• Ensuring controls are maintained in line with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, have investment banking experience in the Financial Control or Product Control of Trading Books, experience of Equity Markets including Equity Swaps, CFDs and Stock Borrowing / Lending as well as being proficient in MS Excel and Access and able to demonstrate knowledge of accounting for Swaps and CFDs along with associated equity hedges, corporate actions, funding etc.
