Senior Market Risk Manager – Banking Book

The incumbent of this role will lead the team that is responsible for the oversight of all traded banking book market risk primarily for Trading but also for Group Corporate Treasury’s banking books and some other smaller banking books in the Group.

Key Responsibilities:

• The individual will be responsible for the daily control of Treasury’s Money Market Banking Book and GCT’s banking book operations (working closely with the Senior Fixed Income Market Risk Manager)
• Manage a small team of desk risk officers
• Understand desk strategies, positions and risk drivers
• Proactively recommend and monitor the limits, understand the daily MTM P&L and its relation with the VaR exposure, accrual P&L  and its relationship to Net Interest Income
• Understand products and trading strategies
• Identify and understand points of weakness, design and agree appropriate stress tests taking into account the trading horizon of the desks, particularly for those risks that only generate P&L on close-out
•  Establish / develop very strong relationships with the relevant desks head and desk teams, gaining mutual respect through providing value-adding services
• Understand and monitor the various basis risks the desk has, both contractual and implied
