cer Financial are working alongside a bank who are based in the City of London. They are seeking an Assistant Financial Crime Analyst to work with them on a permanent basis.

In this role you will be a part of the Compliance Department within Financial Crime with day-to-day responsibility for transaction monitoring in relation to AML, CTF and Fraud.

The Responsibilities of an Assistant Financial Crime Analyst Will Include:

  • To lead the transaction screening and monitoring team sub-team to ensure departmental responsibilities are fulfilled.
  • To perform daily transaction monitoring to identify suspicious pattern trends, inconsistencies and anomalies for further detailed investigation in line with Bank policy.
  • To perform daily sanction screening to ensure potential matches are assessed and decisioned correctly.
  • To ensure the Bank’s transactional policies are implemented by following procedures, systems, and controls to minimise the occurrence and impact of suspicious activity on customers and the Bank’s reputation.
  • Provide assistance as part of any investigations relating to suspected fraud, bribery, and corruption.
  • To assist the MLRO in providing relevant training and coaching to Departments on AML, CTF and Fraud detection via transaction analysis in the first line.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining an effective compliance culture within the Bank for combating money laundering, terrorist financing and other forms of financial crime. Ensure that you fully comply with all anti money laundering and countering terrorist financing procedures and to promptly report to the MLRO where knowledge or reasonable suspicion of any criminal conduct is obtained.
  • Ensure that any staff that may report to you are trained and comply with the Bank’s Policy and Procedures regarding Money Laundering detection and reporting, and that any weaknesses identified in AML Procedures and Compliance are promptly addressed.

The Successful Assistant Financial Crime Analyst Will Include:

  • Graduate with a minimum 2:1 degree.
  • Relevant experience in transaction monitoring. Banking experience in a financial crime team preferable.
  • Understand transaction monitoring systems and their parameters.
  • Able to analyse transaction data to identify patterns, trends, inconsistencies and anomalies and reporting findings to management.
  • Knowledge of relevant financial crime regulation, fraud and corresponding consumer rights.
  • Knowledge of CASS regulation preferable.
  • Knowledge of Trade Finance compliance risks preferable.
